For most gamers (even serious competitive ones), it’s overkill—but there’s also no better gaming keyboard you can buy.

That said, it does cost about $250 online (prices will vary depending on the retailer). If you’re looking to spend less money and want a similar level of quality, check out Corsair’s K70 LUX RGB instead—it costs about $200 online. It’s not quite as nice as the K95 RGB Platinum XT, but it still offers all the bells and whistles of its more expensive sibling with Cherry MX Red or Brown switches.
